We met by chance in Rincon, a surf town on the West coast of Puerto Rico while bar hopping. We hit the same beach bars 3 times in a row, which doesn’t sound like that big of a deal, but considering the bars were miles apart, in pretty secluded areas, and we hit them in the same order, at the same time, on the same night, one couple by bicycle, the other on foot and by cab, it was pretty curious. And we were not following each other!
As it turned out, we both seek out locals for tips on where to go, when to go, and what to avoid. And hitting the best happy hours is something we do best.
Through social media we’ve learned that we have similar traveling styles, however we travel very differently. One couple likes to stay in hotels or rent houses where the other often prefers a B&B or staying with a family. That is why teaming up for this project seemed like such a great idea.
We’ve created this travel blog to help people like us, who travel from home, with a limited number of vacation weeks each year, trying to see the best and most spectacular the world has to offer. Our goal is to help our friends explore this amazing world and we definitely prefer the “off the beaten path adventures” to the all-inclusive, pre-packaged trips, that work very well for others, but just not us.
We are often asked things like:
How do you go about hiking to the Kilimanjaro Summit? How exactly do you go Running with the Bulls in Pamplona? Plan a trip to the Taj Mahal? Explore Machu Picchu? Istanbul? The Galapagos Islands? Viet Nam? Egypt? Patagonia?
Well, we’ve been there and hopefully we can share some tips to get you there, or at least make your experience just a little bit better!
